POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Assistant is responsible for supporting the Technical Support Manager in the execution IT solutions in the Organization. This will also include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring hardware and software, setting up peripherals such as printers or routers, repairing equipment. Provide daily technical assistance to the User community to ensure effective utilizations of the organization’s technology infrastructure. Work in other technological specialties, such as Web design or Internet security as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associate of science degree in Electronics or related technical discipline, with additional specialty training on computer equipment and related products.
Two to four years in electronic repair of computer hardware and equipment. LAN (Local Area Networks), WAN (Wide Area Networks) application support (Windows, MS Office etc) and telephone support. Extensive knowledge of Computers, Microsoft Operating System, servers, cabling etc
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot PC hardware and software and network peripherals
· Process, monitor and prioritize trouble tickets and participate in building knowledgebase
· Troubleshoot LAN and WAN network connectivity issues
· Assist in managing and monitor antivirus software
· Install, configure and maintain PC and Laptop operating systems and software
· Install, configure and maintain Wireless network infrastructure and barcode scanners
· Provide support for IP based telephone systems
· Provide support for Laser printer systems
· Provide support for Label printers
· Provide support for Sonicwall firewall devices
· Create and maintain system documentation and proactively share this information with the team members
· Provide User support for Microsoft office applications
· Knowledge of security camera systems (dvrs and cameras)
· Support other key initiatives as the business dictates
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid NYS Driver’s License (must have access to vehicle)
Travel – 50-75%
Ability to travel to other locations- NY & NJ
