The Customs Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support in preparing, processing and maintaining import/export documentation. The role
ensures all customs paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations to facilitate the smooth clearance of shipments.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customs documentation for imports and exports.
- Check and verify invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping documents.
- Ensure goods are classified correctly using the appropriate tariff codes.
- Maintain records of shipments, duties, and taxes paid.
- Liaise with customs officers, shipping agents, and freight forwarders as required.
- Track shipments and update relevant stakeholders on clearance status.
- File and archive customs documents in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with resolving documentation or clearance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further training in logistics, business, or customs preferred.
- Knowledge of customs procedures and documentation requirements is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in MS Office and customs brokerage software systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in shipping, logistics or customs clearance is an advantage
