VACANCY – Freight Forwarding Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting with carrying out the daily functions of the overall Operations of the Montego Bay Office. Main duties include lodging documents with Customs for the timely release of goods received by air or sea, stripping of containers, and completing clearance of shipments at both Air and Sea Ports.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lodge documents for Cargo Release (FCL & LCL containers)
- Make appointments for stripping of containers
- Liaise between the Office, the Ports and Customs to ensure smooth flow of information regarding clearances
- Prepare quotations for International Shipments
- Prepare Discrepancy Reports for Stations overseas
- Prepare export documentation and book containers
- Coordinate and oversee daily logistics operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance
- Supervise daily operations at the Ports/office
- Supervise loading of export containers
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Customs Processes/Freight Forwarding, Logistics or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor in shipping, freight forwarding or customs brokerage
- Knowledge of customer service, export and import documentation procedures at the Port
- Strong understanding of customs clearance processes and regulations
- Experience using the ASYCUDA system
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
