Import/Export Team Lead – Montego Bay

This position is responsible for assisting with the coordination of all activities for Customer Service & Documentation staff to ensure the smooth running of the General Office Area.

The Import/Export Team Lead must have a full understanding of the documentation processes required to successfully receive incoming air & sea freight for both the company and World Cargo Alliance (WCA) shipments.   Must ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed and legally acceptable to Customs to allow for clearance of goods. He/ She must be able to employ a range of thinking and decision-making skills and to be able to provide clear and thorough instructions to staff, and be able to deliver accurate and actionable information to customers.

Import/Export Team Lead – Montego Bay

Responsibilities:

    • §  Assist in coordinating the Documentation Process for Incoming Freight & WCA’s

      §  Prepare invoices, manifest and arrival notices for LCL & FCL

      §  Prepare & distribute Arrival Notices to Commercial Customers and Invoices for Air Shipments

      §  Respond to queries from Commercial Customers and WCA Partners in relation to Documentation

      §  Prepare monthly container and air cargo report

      §  Prepare breakdown manifest to be submitted to the Airline

      §  Attend to customer queries by telephone or in person relating to their shipment

      §  Documentation submissions to E-Manifest / Asycuda

    Education and Experience:

    • §  A Degree in Logistics, Custom Processes, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration

      §  A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Logistic Supervisor/Coordinator in the shipping industry.

      §  Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel & Outlook

    Required Skills and Knowledge Areas:

    • §  In-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry.

      §  Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.

    • §  Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

      §  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

      §  Record of successful distribution and logistics management

      §  Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff

      §  Proficient in standard logistics software

      §  Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

      §  Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
