Laparkan offices throughout the Caribbean are now open for extended hours to facilitate the clearing of cargo for the Holiday Season. These offices have also put in place special programs to assist consignees with the uplift of their barrels, boxes and other personal effects.
Laparkan managers in the Caribbean have also undertaken a public information program via the media through which they have been advising customers of the extended daily hours, including Saturdays as well as about the procedures and documentation necessary for uplifting cargo.
At this time of year the ports in the Caribbean become very congested with the increased volume of shipments, necessitating that the ports operate for extended hours to avoid a serious backlog of cargo. Laparkan has therefore extended its hours of operation so as to ensure that its customers get their cargo in time for the holidays.
“Our offices are also providing special services such as clearing cargo on behalf of customers, providing transportation between our office and the port and generally assisting with speedy handling of government requirements for the uplift of cargo in the various countries,” said Senior Vice President Shridat Naraine.
